22 acres of new parks that were planned to replace old open space taken during the new Yankee Stadium construction are being delayed. Bronx Parks Commissioner Hector Aponte stated that the parks are expected for completion near the end of 2010. Originally, the new parks were expected to be open by summer 2009.
